Attention to detail – not all of us have it, even artists. Though ‘Detail’ was the very first word that came to my mind as I scrolled… and scrolled, eager for the next photo to appear on my screen of this beautifully illustrated paper cut book, completed by Trudy Guo from Melbourne. Paper cut projects aren’t something that I see everyday, caught up in my world of illustration and design its very refreshing to come across a beautiful project like this.
Trudy’s ‘Book of Ester‘ is 64 page book that is completely handmade, including the end papers, paper cuts and section-sow binding. Machinery was only used for printing and cutting the wood. The Illustrative work was completed in Illustrator and laid out using InDesign. The finished product is housed in a wood cut box.
A cute play on words, the foundations for the concept – Book of Esther from the New King James Bible, are close to Trudy’s heart. I just love it!
